Bayou Corne, Louisiana, March 17, 2013, A geophone placed in the Bayou behind the sinkhole in Bayou Corne. Many Geophones have been set up in the area used to conduct seismic tests in order to develop a 3-d diagram to illustrate the state the salt mine is since it collapsed on Aug 3rd 2012 causing the sinkhole. Residents of Bayou Corne have been under a mandatory evacuation since Aug. 4th 2012 when a Texas Brine salt mine collapsed causing a sinkhole that continues to grow and burp up crude oil and natural gas.
