Darryl Malek-Wiley with the SIerra Club giving a lecture at the first public meeting held by the newly formed Lake Maurepas Preservation Society in Gramercy, Louisana at the St. James Boat Club where information about Air Products proposed "Louisana Clean Energy Complex" that will use methane from natural gas to produce hydrogen fuel and ammonia which will be equipped to capture a large amount of the carbon emissions it creates which the company plans to store under Lake Maurepas. Air Prodcuts plans to create a carbon captures sequestration hub under the environmentally sensitive area that If built it will be the largest CCS project to date is facing growing pushback as seen at the March 2, 2023 meeting.
