Flooding in Southern Louisiana282.jpg
Contents removed from a flooded home in Walker, Louisiana following a 100 year flood that impacted numerous parishes in Southern Louisiana. The mayor of Walker, Louisiana, Rick Ramsey is suing the state and federal government for flooding in the city. Ramsey blames the construction of Interstate 12 for the magnitude of the flooding. The mayor warned officials about the chance of flooding because of the road’s construction when a six foot high barrier was build between east and west bound lanes which he says acted as a damn directing the water into his city, that would have otherwise drained in the other direction, sparing his city of the worst of the flooding.
