Jim Newport, General Manager of Wanhua’s U.S. Operations defending his company at an appeal hearing of a permit granted for Wanhua at the St James Parish Council Meeting on July 24, 2019. Wanhua plans to build a $1.25 Billion Chemical Complex t in St. James Parish but a group of residents in the parish are fighitng against it. THe Tulane Environmental Law Clinic (TELC) is representing community members, RISE St. James and the Louisiana Bucket Brigade in a fight to stop the plant from being permitted.
