Lt. General Lloyd J. Austin III giving a press briefing in Bagdad in 2009 on the successes of elections in Iraq due to improvements in security. He congratulated the Iraqis and gave statistics. On average there are 100 attacks in Iraq in the coarse of a week which is 10% lower then 18 months ago. In 2005 during the elections there were 300 attacks- this time, in 2009, there were 11. General Austin said once the police forces are better trained, meeting the terms of the security agreement to pull out by 2010 shouldn't be a problem.
