Bayou Corne SInkhole 14.jpg
Oil coats the surface of the sinkhole near the site of the collapsed Texas Brines Salt Cavern in Bayou Corne. When the Bayou Corne sinkhole opened up on August 3, 2012 a mandatory evacuation was called and many of the towns residents left. Texas Brine drilled too close too the edge of a salt mine causing it to collapse and cause an industrial disaster.
