Makeshift memorial across the street from the charred remains of an abandoned warehouse in the 9th Ward of New Orleans where eight young homeless people died when the building caught fire.
Young vagrants know as 'gutter punks" were squatting in the warehouse and started a fire to keep warm that ended in tragedy when the structure burnt down. Since Hurricane Katrina, many abandoned building remain and are being used by homeless people.
