Friday, May 19, 2017, New Orleans, LA, Confederate statue of General Robert E. Lee being removed from Lee Circle after a full day of preperations to lift it off a base by masked workers. It was the last of four Confederate-era monuments to be removed after a proposal by Mayor Mitch Landrieu to remove the monuments was approved by the city council in 2015.
