Alligators in Davis Pond06.jpg
Aligators in Davis Pond, a body of water that is part of a freshwater diversion project that allows water from the Mississippi in the marsh. Aligators gather at the Davis Pond Freshwater Diversion Structure because it is plentifuly with fish. The project will imitate historic spring floods, providing a controlled flow of fresh water, sediments and nutrients from the Mississippi River to the Barataria Bay estuary.
