South Louisiana Wetlands67.jpg
American water lilies on along the shor of Lake Salvador, part of Southeastern Louisiana's wetlands. The wetlands were threatened by the BP oil spill but containment of the Macondo well saved most of the bayous lakes and waterways that make their way to the Gulf of Mexico. Louisiana's wetlands are threaten by coastal erosion, climate change and the oil and gas industry.
