White pelican flock05.jpg
On Dec. 11, 2018 a flock American white pelicans fishing off Island road near the Isle de Jean Charles in Terrebonne Parish. American white pelicans are cooperative hunters that amass as a tight group and churn the water with their wings and bills to herd schools of fish into shallow water. Once the fish are cornered, the pelicans will bob their bills underwater and scoop up the fish.
