Robert Taylor, a Caner Alley community leader, in his home in Reserve, Louisiana, which was destroyed by Hurricane Ida. Though he has a new roof and volunteers gutted his house, it is mostly an empty shell, except for a few rooms where a church group installed drywall—which they wrote all over, making it harder to paint.
