A blighted mini market with a fading mural with New Orleans specialty foods painting on it remains standing almost six year after Hurricane Katrina. As the six year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina nears blight remains in New Orleans. Many of the programs to remove blight and help the city recover are federally funded and will face cuts because of the economic decline.
