Tracie Verdin, part of the Pointe-au-Chien Indian tribe in front of her church in Pointe aux Chenes on her first day of working for BP to lay boom. Work was canceled due to rain. Tracie has been shrimping since she was two and doesn't not desire doing any other kind of work. Crab and shrimp season were officially closed on May 29th, 2010, due to the BP oil spill that is making its' way into the lakes and bayous close to Pointe-au-Chien.
