Sharon Lavinge, founder of RISE St. James holding nurdles mixed with natural matter found in Texas and delvieled to Louisiana , from a Formosa plant. The nurdles (small plastic pellets, used to make plastic goods, that pollute the environment) were collected by Diane Wilson and others, near a Formosa plant in Texas that discharged them into waterways. Wilson used the nurtles in a court case against Formosa that resulted in a $50-million settlement the company.
