Line that stretched around the block in New Orleans at a gun buyback event called for by New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell. The line started forming at 5:30 AM . The doors opened at 11:AM and the event was supposed to run through 2 pm but the money ran out in the first hours so the event closed early. Only 200 of the more than 1000 were able to claim the $500 offered for any gun in working condition. When the Mayor first annoucned the buyback progran no limits were put on how many guns you could bring in for $500. That was changed to $500 maximium payout to any one who could prove resdienciy in Orleans Parish.
