South Louisiana Wetlands72.jpg
Clouds over the Atchafalaya Bay in south western Louisiana in waters that open up into the gulf of Mexico. The wetlands were threatened by the BP oil spill but containment of the Macondo well saved most of the bayous lakes and waterways that make their way to the Gulf of Mexico. Louisiana's wetlands are threaten by coastal erosion, climate change and the oil and gas industry.
