Ahmed, a shoemaker glues the souls of shoes together in Islamic Cairo where craftsmen work in small workshops off the main street in Al-Darb Al-Ahmr. Many Egyptian craftsmen have degrees in higher education but couldn't find jobs in their fields. Unemployment and lack of opportunity for advancement are factors that contributed to the discontent in Egypt leading to the January 25th revolution that toppled Mubarak's oppressive regime.
