Kelley Ripa , the grand marshal along with Anderson Cooper of Endymion rides on a float throwing beads and plastic cups during the parade that was put off by one day due to stormy weather during Mardi Gras 2011 celebrations. Mardi Gras 2011 in New Orleans is expected to be have the largest attendance of all time due to the dates overlapping with college spring break. Mardi Gras also known as Carnival begins on or after Epiphany and ending on the day before Ash Wednesday.
