Arlington West in Santa Monica California next to the pier is the site of a memorial to killed soldiers in Iraq. Every week the number of new dead is honored with symbolic coffins and a sign announcing the new number of solider killed. Veterans for Peace set up the memorial every Sunday and take it down at the end of the day. It takes up to four hours to set up the memorial///volunteers set up crosses representing each dead soldier at Arlington West in Santa Monica
